“One day you’re 17 and planning for someday and then quietly and without you even noticing, someday is today and then someday is yesterday and this is your life.”
Okay so I’ve mentioned this before, but I have only seen the first four seasons and then I skipped to the series finale. I know I have missed out on SO much (I’ve got various spoilers too) but I really need to concentrate on nailing my IB exams first before I get addicted to another TV show (not that I’m not already). But I do have certain clues about what happened in the last 5 seasons and I just feel like the finale made SO much sense after the season 4 finale as well!
So back to topic, this quote sums up the show so well. According to me , it just provides the perfect closure to the viewers who have been watching these characters grow, live there lives, make mistakes and learn. I have raved enough about the real-ness of the plot and I just cannot get over how true these words said by Nathan are. I think the finale was just perfect, partly because of this very scene.
These words also happen to be the theme of my life right now because I am 17, wondering where i’ll be 6 months from now, and still wasting my time as if there’s no tomorrow! I know these days wont come back and I do need to get good grades so I can get into the college of my choice and be the happy person that I aspire to be, and yet I can;t stop procrastinating! Aaaahnskjhskdjhfsdfh! Okayy I just got wayyyy to philosophical right there!
OMG I can’t choose!!
Ok so I think its that reflective episode in Season 4, which my bff and I call the ‘ToK Episode’ (For any of you IB Learners out there ;).
Its Season 4, Episode 13-Pictures of you
One major thing that sets One Tree Hill apart from any other TV show out there is that we really get to peek inside the character’s feelings-something you don’t get in all TV Shows. This just makes it so much more real. You want to go give someone a hug and tell them them that it’ll be okay. You want to join in on their jokes and be a part of their fun. This isn’t something you can achieve easily in a fictional story, let alone a TV show.
This episode was placed so perfectly after all the episodes of heightened drama with Brooke cheating on her test and Luke’s heart attack and Nathan and Haley’s college confusion. It opened me up to so many nuances of these characters’ lives and bringing about extreme catharsis (*winks at English Teacher*).
I also loved how they thought back to their High School Cliques and I feel that not only them but even we as the audience got to see who these characters really were and who they aspired to be for the first time. Aaah its all just so skillfully written!

That movie!
